Dearest uncle,

You've always been the closest uncle I have growing up.  I have a lot of respect to you. You are the man with integrity, and thanks for being my uncle!  I know you are at peace now and in a heavenly place.  Please say Hi to grandpa and grandma if you see them.  We will miss you and we will always think about you.

In my life so far you are my most trustful brother. Since my early years I went to Japan for study, after that continue to come here the USA. In our family rule the oldest son should help his father to handle family business. Although you are the second son in our family, you took over all of my responsibility without any unhappiness. I appreciate very much for everything you did for me. You not only took over my responsibility but also educated two sons, Will, Shin, and one daughter, Karen, to achieve the highest level of education to make our family looking bright and honorable.  

We are very sad that you got such a terrible sickness and left us forever. We will miss you!!!

you are my friend, you are my mentor, you are my inspiration, you are my hero, and more importantly you are my dad. 
Death can only separates us physically but it can not separates us spiritually, you will always be an important part of me. I will try my best to follow your footsteps to become an upright citizen and earn a chance to be reunited with you in Buddah Amitabha's Sukhavati when the time comes.

Dear Mr. Lin,
  I would always call you uncle Lin. Time really passes fast since we met in 1989 when Karen brought us to your home. Then we keep coming to visit your family for couple years and always have a wonderful time with your family. As a newcomer to the US to study a graduate school, I thought that this is an American dream with a beautiful family living in a beautiful community. This must be the best.
  As I always enjoyed countless hours of conversations and walks to enjoy the beautiful scenes in your home community with you. The most amazing impression from our conversations is that your knowledge in history and geometry are just incredible. How can you remember so many things with so much detail when you were already out of school for over 20 years and I am still a student but with less than 30% of your knowledge? I have learned many things from you and I always respect you as an elder uncle and a warm kind gentleman. Emy and I are honored to be able to spend hours with you and your family at your final resting periods. May you have another promising journey at your choice.

You've always been there for Kendra and me, and I can honestly say that there isn't another 'grandpa' better than you. You taught me how to ride a bike, play soccer, and was simply always there for me when I needed someone. I've seldom met anyone who can boast that their grandpa was also their best friend like Kendra and I can. We'll miss you grandpa!

Dear Dad,
You are the best father-in-law that any one could ever have.  You are always kind and thoughtful to me and your two granddaughters.  When they were babies, you carried them around as long as your arms can endure.  You taught Sandra how to ride a bike.  You are so patient with little Kendra. We all love you dearly. We know you are at a better and happier place now. And, we are so blessed to have you watching over these two young ladies. You will always be in our hearts......

??, my second elder brother is a truly kind & decent person with personal integrity.  We spent numerous evenings studying History & Geometry while we were in junior & high school (????).  I still remember that he was a very good soccer player & won several tournaments for his class.  He was equally verse in history & won a nickname "???" from his classmates.  Although he had ups & downs in his career & life, but who hasn't?  I feel sad in losing a brother but life is like a river.  After some turbulent & active years eventually it flows nicely & peacefully to the sea.  My brother ?? is a well respected man.  For me he does not die, he just faded away.  I will always remember his gentle smile & his influence on me while I grew up.  The long illness does not provide good quality of life.  I hope he will be happier in the other side of the world.

After many years of battling with Alzheimer/dementia, you have finally won the war. You have taken the last step on your journey to a better place and will no longer be suffering. 

Dad you will never be forgotten and will always be in our thoughts and prayers. In the tomorrows still to come you will walk beside us in the sunshine and the rain; we will speak your name often...and we will close our eyes and smile...because you lived!
