

Mom joined her heavenly Father on June 24, 2012. She was born in Pflugerville, Texas on August 8, 1920, the daughter of Charles and Rose Mae Wieruscheske. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Damon Collier, Pessell Fowler, and Mack Jones; daughter, Bonnie Collier Volek; daughter-in-law, Mildred Collier; and brother, Emmitt Wieruscheske.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Carroll Collier, Charles Collier and wife Nancy, and by a very special son-in-law, Edward Volek and wife Linda; and by sisters, Dorothy Leudtke and Marilyn Weiss. Her grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Greg Volek and wife Suzie, Audra Vest and husband Kevin, Claudia Buser and husband John, Chad Collier and wife Debbie, Clint Collier and wife Trudy, and Chandler Collier. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
Mom and Dad Damon operated Collier Meat Market in Pflugerville in the 1950’s. She then worked for the Bealls Department Store in Capital Plaza, retiring after 18 years of service. In 1986, she moved to her ranch in Adamsville, Texas, and later to a home in Kempner, Texas. In 2005, Mom moved back to Pflugerville to be closer to her family.
Pallbearers are John Buser, Chad Collier, Clinton Collier, Bruce Forgy, Clayton Luedtke, Dennis Luedtke, Kevin Vest, Greg Volek, and Hollis Wieruscheske.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012 in the funeral home chapel, with burial following at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
