It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Samuel Robbins, 79, of Cedar Park, Texas. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Round Rock Hospital. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Samuel was born on December 31, 1945, in Kane, Pennsylvania, and was a beacon of love and strength to all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Charlene; his son, Michael Robbins with his wife Saniya and his daughters, Michelle Doyle with her husband Heath, and Stacy Doucet. He is also survived by his siblings Mary Buell, Vicki Forness, Cindy Sawyer, and John Robbins. Samuel was preceded in death by his father, Manley Robbins Jr; his mother, Betty Robbins; and his sister, Kathy Slye.
Samuel proudly served in the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman. During his four years of service, including one year in Vietnam, he was awarded The National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and the Presidential Unit Citation. After completing his military service, he earned an associate’s degree in applied science.
Above all, Samuel was most proud of being a grandfather—affectionately known as “Papa” or “Pops” to his six grandchildren, Brenden, Kaden, Jack, Aaron, Addison, and Ridge who loved him dearly. He also felt truly blessed that his nephew, Chad Proctor, moved to Texas to be close to him. Chad, and his wife Carrie and their two children, Giuliana and Roman, have been a huge part of his life. He took immense pride in his family and cherished every moment spent together. His passions included golf, football, music, and storytelling. Samuel found joy in life and loved to laugh, bringing warmth and humor to those around him.
He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Samuel will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family will receive family and friends at 12:00 PM on Monday July 7, 2025, in the Longhorn Room of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas to celebrate Samuel's life.
