

After graduating St. Edwards High School, he served in the United States Army for two years. Following his military service, he began his career with the United States Postal Service, from where he later retired. Sam had a love for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed dominos and a bowling league with his friends. He loved baseball and he coached and watched his kids and grandkids play and then continued his love for the game working with the Round Rock Express. He started working with the Express in its inaugural year and worked through the 2015 season. He loved his job and even more so loved his Express family.
Sam was very passionate about the charities he supported, especially MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) and MD Anderson Cancer Center.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Eileen Thielepape; sisters Rose Mary Kennedy and Marge Gibbens and grandson Clinton Cantwell.
Sam is survived by his daughters, Jacqueline Mauldin (John Taylor), Stephanie Ramsey (Danny Ramsey), and Gabrielle Thielepape (John Chadwick); his son, Sam Thielepape (Krispen Thielepape); his grandchildren, Michelle Bragg, Christal Mauldin, Jennifer Atkinson, Amber Ramsey, Kendall Ramsey, Morgan Thielepape, and Logan Thielepape; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Eileen Hunt, along with numerous nieces and nephews that meant the world to him.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. A Celebration of Sam’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
