Sharon Rhea Talbott Sanborn became a beautiful flower in God’s garden on Aug. 11, 2020. She had a major stroke, and God called her Home to be with Him just 3 days before she turned 70. She’s now lovingly tending His gardens in Heaven.
Sharon was born on Aug. 14, 1950 in Austin, Texas to Raymond Harold and Jo Evelyn Talbott. She was preceded in death by a beloved grandmother Goldye Coursey, her mother Jo Talbott, and a special nephew Brian Keithly. She passed away in the hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She spent the last 7 years living in Canyon, Texas near her sister, Teresa Keithly. They seriously enjoyed their time together!
Sharon worked as a medical transcriptionist, as a legal secretary in numerous law firms, and a secretary in several State of Texas agencies in Austin, Texas.
She is survived by her dearly loved son Kristopher James Boring and his wife Lucie, and two very special granddaughters, Aubrey Diane and Ava Dawn Boring. Sharon is also survived by her father Ray Talbott, and her siblings Teresa and Bill Keithly, Deborah and Greg Whetsel, Larry and Barbara Talbott, Lisa and Mark Collins, and Laura Hopingardner. Surviving nieces and nephews include Amy and Aaron Keithly, Stephen Whetsel, Marissa Looke, Brittany Sommers, Delaney Collins, Mitchell Stephens, and Danielle Eileen Talbott. The surviving great-nieces and great-nephews are: Elena Lisa Looke, Elijah Mark Denson Looke, Ember Rae Looke, Evelyn Rose Looke, Rowyn Lowell Stephens, and William Chesley Stephens. Sharon very much enjoyed visiting all her nieces and nephews, as well as other family members, on her last trip to Austin in May, 2019.
Sharon had many nature-related hobbies including flower gardening, collecting fossils and interesting rocks in Austin creek beds, and taking evening sunset rides with her sister and her much loved puppy Abby Dee to see the beautifully colorful west Texas skies. She played many games of Scrabble with her sister in the evenings, loved word games, going to the movies, and watching the “old” movies at home. She had a special place in her heart for homeless kitties, which she often took into her home and fostered and loved. Sharon had a very generous and loving spirit, always willing to go the extra mile to help and share with others. Her parents knew what they were doing when they named her Sharon!
Sharon really enjoyed trips to Rocky Mountain National Park and Garden of the Gods in Colorado, the creeks in Red River, New Mexico, and Palo Duro Canyon State Park and Caprock Canyon State Park in Texas. Like her mother, Jo Evelyn, Sharon was a “go gal!”
Sharon will be deeply missed by all, but as her son Kristopher said, “Don’t say goodbye. Say ‘See you later.’” We know we will see you again in Heaven, sweet sister and mother Sharon.
She will be interred in Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held 3:30 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, TX.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to honor her with a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org or Texas Panhandle Petsavers at https://www.texaspanhandlepetsavers.org/donate.php.
