Shirley May Quick

God loaned the world his gift of Shirley for 93 years and has now called his angel home. He truly blessed us with a special mom who not only loved and cherished her family but treated everyone as though they were.

The Lord took Shirley May Quick into his loving arms on Saturday April 10, 2021 at home in Round Rock, Texas.

Shirley was born on May 15, 1928 in Everett, Washington. Shirley is the daughter of Fredrick Hemmie Olson and Bessie Marie White. She grew up in Washington with two siblings, Everett & Jim.

Growing up in Washington, she met the love of her life; Boatswain’s Mate First Class USN, O.T. Quick, Jr. They were married on October 27, 1945 in Everett, Washington. Soon after getting married Shirley and O.T. moved to Austin, Texas. Shirley quickly settled into her role as a devoted wife and flourished as they started their legacy of a family. Shirley and O.T. went on to have six children. Shirley spent her days caring for her husband and doing all she could do to help raise her family.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick Hemmie Olson and Bessie Marie White; her husband, OT Quick, Jr.; son, Billy Quick; and grandson, Jason Armstrong.

Shirley is survived by her five children, Ted and Linda Quick of Bakersfield, California, Carl and Lisa Quick of San Antonio, Texas, Nancy and Jim Swaney of Round Rock, Texas, Gina and Billy Armstrong of Round Rock, Texas, and Jimmy Quick of Liberty Hill, Texas. Shirley, I was so fortunate to have you as my mother-in-law. I saw you 5 days a week for many, many years as you took care of the girls, and I think I looked forward to seeing you each day as much as the girls did! You never voluntarily offered advice, but any time I asked, your words of wisdom meant the world to me. You will forever hold a special place in my heart, and I will miss you dearly.

Love,
Tammy

I love you so much granny. I don’t know how to put into words how much I am going to miss you, miss hearing your voice, miss giving you a big hug. I’ll miss our Cheddars and JC Penney outings. Nothing will ever be the same. You touched so many lives with your grace and kindness. This world was a better place with you in it. My life was better with you in it. Rest easy granny. I love you, forever and always.
