Sophia Lyn, beloved mother and wife, sadly passed away on June 10, 2022, at the far too young age of 52. She was a dedicated and loving mother who had an unfailing dedication to supporting her sons. She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children and husband. Sophia was a beacon of light that made the world quite a bit brighter for anyone she met. That was her single greatest purpose in life.
She was preceded by her mother, Lyn Lee. She is survived by her husband, Byron Bordelon, sons Dj, and Wes Oribello; sisters, Apple, Love, Queenie, Darleen, Claire, and Alison; brothers, Rafael, Rod, and Eric; as well as nieces and nephews and many other beloved relatives and friends.
Sophia Lyn was born in Ozamiz City in the countryside of the Philippines. During her youth, she developed her poise and grace by excelling in athletics, pageantry, and ballet. In her teenage years, Sophia moved to Mountain View, California, to complete her high school education. She excelled as a student, achieved a 4.0 GPA, and earned a scholarship to UC Berkeley.
Sophia was an empathetic soul and lived her life with the intent of helping everyone reach their highest potential. A compassionate listener, she could bring out the best version of anyone she touched. This compassion and kindness lead her to a career in human resources. As a certified Senior HR Professional, she helped mold the lives of many current entrepreneurs and future leaders.
Sophia was blessed to have met her future husband, life partner, and soulmate, Byron Bordelon. She was ecstatic with her new partner, as she often reminded everyone, “Never settle; find someone who treats you right.” They shared a brief but wonderful three years, and the two were happily married on February 12, 2022, at Ian’s Chapel in Dripping Springs, Texas.
Sophia Lyn was a star, granting light and warming the hearts of those around her. With light and love, she inspired all who were lucky enough to be in her life. Sophia will live on through the acts of those she left behind. She loved her children, husband, family, and friends, all of which will miss her dearly.
All are invited to say a final goodbye to Sophia at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home & Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas, on June 17, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. After the ceremony, the family will host a Celebration of life at The Ranch House at Teravista.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cookwaldencapitalparks.com for the Bordelon family.
