Heaven has gained a mighty angel! My heart goes out to you, Claire and Karen, and I share your loss.  Your mother was a lovely person.  I remember a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner in college I was invited to, when I couldn't go home. That's where I learned to eat squash, and have enjoyed it ever since, especially since I use Stella's recipe. I know Stella will be missed. Eternal rest Stella  - your legacy lives on in Claire, Karen, grandchildren and great grandchildren. With deepest sympathy and understanding.

dear Karen and Claire, I am so sorry to read that your mother has passed.   I worked with your mother for over twenty years at Texas Parks and Wildlife in Accounts Payable. We sat side by side for all those years until she retired and came back and worked in Budget. She talked all the time about both of you girls. Then when the grandchildren started coming it was about them. I remember Georgia being the first one and it was all about Georgia, then Amanda, then David Charles. I remember stories about all of you.
She LOVED Sunday School, and bowling. She was a very sharp dresser with beautiful clothes and shoes and always matched. She looked like a model. Stella was very well educated and she was one of the smartest ladies I ever met. She was a fast learner and she actually ran the department but never got the title. She sure deserved it. My regret was to not keep contact with her after her second retirement. I admired her very much, and you can be very proud of her because she was a good person, kind person, and a very hard worker. I remember both Karen and Claire coming to the office at times.  I also remember seeing Georgia. My Condolences, Linda Dawson

Stella will be missed by many family and friends. She always talked about her family and her Sunday School class when we could visit her. I know that she has a new home in heaven.

My deepest sympathy to all of Stella’s family. Stella was a  dedicated member of the Radiant Class at Hillcrest and she was so faithful in sending carefully chosen cards for birthdays, illnesses and special occasions.  Stella insisted on paying for the cards and refused any help with the expenses. Stella was an important part of this closely knit class  and always attended the monthly brunch  and special activities. Stella was loved and we will miss her. Glenda Miller

Ruth & I are sorry for your loss, but knowing that your mother is in a better place can bring you comfort.
The obituary indicated your mom was a true Austinite from day one. The city is much better as a result of her citizenship. She was a true grit, a real pioneer and  a rarity on the University of Texas campus as a female student majoring in Accounting. She even taught her damughters to  follow in her footsteps regarding  “The University” and the major.
One item worthy of noting is the fact she loved each member of her family in a special way. Take comfort that she will still be watching over each of you.

I played '42' with Stella at Crestview Baptist every Friday morning for years until she was no longer physically able to attend.  I got a kick out of her dry sense of humor.  I extend my condolences to the family in your loss.

I loved stopping by to see Stella when I was walking my dogs everyday.  She always came out to chat for a minute.  I especially enjoyed our longer visits without the dogs.  I’m so blessed to have known her and called her my friend.   Claire thank you for introducing me to her and to Karen.  God bless your family.
