Estela (Stella) Fonseca Montoya, age 78, was called by our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Stella was born in Santa Rosa, Texas on June 5, 1944. She moved to Austin, Texas in October 1964 when she married the love of her life.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose greatest joy was her family. She served the Lord with all her heart and was a faithful member of Templo Bethel Pentecostes, where she was such a great help to so many ministries. She was a Sunday School teacher, helped lead the Women’s Prayer Ministry, and visited the elderly. She volunteered many years at Zavala Elementary in the HOSTS program as well.
Stella also touched the lives of many through the countless children she cared for and the foster children she welcomed into her home.
She is preceded in death by her parents Esequiel Fonseca, Sr. and Estefanita Fonseca, her sister Alicia Montoya, her brother, Esequiel Fonseca, Jr., and her granddaughter Carolyne Lauren Montoya.
Stella is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Rudy Montoya, Sr.; daughter, Marie Vasquez and husband, Bobby, son Rudy Montoya, Jr. and wife Carol, and daughter, Stephanie Montoya; grandchildren: Steffany Vasquez, Albert Vasquez, Jr. and wife Maribel, Stephen Vasquez and wife Julie, Ashley Montoya, and Trey Montoya; great-grandchildren: Cameron and Tristan Vasquez. She is also survived by her siblings Lupita Villarreal, Linda Gough, Janie (Juan) Quesada, Irma (Beto) Rincones, Pete (Susie) Fonseca, and Joe (Bertha) Fonseca, many in-laws, nephews, and nieces.
We will never forget her beauty, grace, laughter, and love. She will always be our sunshine.
We would like to give a very special thank you to Cella Bella’s Senior Services Hospice. We are forever grateful for the love and care you gave to our beloved Stella. You quickly became a part of our family.
Services will be officiated by Rev. Josue B. Sanchez.
A visitation for Stella will be held Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North IH-35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. A prayer service will immediately follow at 7:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating Stella's life will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
