Steve was a larger-than-life guy who loved his family, climbing up on a barstool at Red Rooster’s, Dripping Springs Vodka, summer days in the pool, and arguing with his brother. His favorite days were spent grilling in the backyard with his family, swimming and having Katie select country music to play. He was incredibly proud of his kids and appreciated both the ways they were like him and the ways they were different from him. He made us all laugh with funny stories about winning a bet in a pinch, his poker days, and parties at the house. Steve and his dad Mack were two peas in a pod, and he loved with working side-by-side with his dad every day. He loved his brother, sisters, nieces, and nephews whole heartedly. He was the glue that brought the family together on holidays and held it together during tough times.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, including his beloved grandmother Trixie Laughlin.
Steve is survived by his children Katie Laughlin and William Laughlin of Pflugerville, TX; his girlfriend Jennifer Sandifer and her son Cole Sandifer, also of Pflugerville; his parents Mack and Betty Laughlin of Round Rock, TX; his brother Mark Laughlin and Mark’s son John Wesley Laughlin of Pflugerville, TX; his sister and brother-in-law Amy and Rob Fenton and their children Trixie, Kacie, and Tonie Fenton of Georgetown, TX; and his sister Angela Laughlin.
