Teri Luann Turner

Teri LuAnn (Miller) Turner went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the age of 66. Teri touched the lives of many with her sweet spirit, generous heart, and deep love for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to those around her.

Teri was born in Austin, Texas, on February 8, 1960, to Gene Miller and Jackie Gartner. During her younger years, her family moved to Tennessee and Utah due to her father’s work. They eventually returned to Austin, where Teri graduated from LBJ High School in 1978.

In the fall of 1980, Teri met the love of her life, Todd Randle Turner. They married on March 14, 1981, beginning a lifelong journey together. Teri and Todd built a beautiful life centered around family and love. Together they welcomed two children, Tonya and Todd Nathan.

During the early years of their marriage, Teri worked at church daycare centers before becoming an administrative assistant at a doctor’s office in the Austin area. In 2011, she began working alongside Todd as part owner of their Facility Service, and Test&Balance company. She continued in that role until her retirement in 2022.

In 2010, Todd and Teri adopted their grandson, Clayton Randle Hickman. Teri devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising Clayton and supporting him in all that he loved. She was especially encouraging of his passion for gaming, always taking an interest in the things that brought him joy. Clayton affectionately called her “Big Maw,” a name that perfectly reflected the special bond they shared.

In 2020, Todd, Teri, and Clayton moved to Brownwood, Texas, where they made their home and enjoyed the extra acreage that allowed them to raise longhorns and miniature donkeys. The donkeys quickly became Teri’s special responsibility—and, as anyone who knew her would likely agree, she made sure she had the final say in all things donkey-related! She took great joy in caring for them and even enjoyed gifting new donkeys to neighbors and family.

Teri had a remarkable way of making people feel remembered and loved. She never missed a family birthday—not even those of extended family. She loved choosing and sending cards and gifts for birthdays and Christmas, and many will remember the anticipation of receiving one of Teri’s special cards. Those thoughtful gestures, so simple yet so meaningful, will be deeply missed.

Teri was preceded in death by her parents, Gene Miller and Jackie Gartner.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Todd; her daughter, Tonya (Turner) Whitlock of Anson, Texas; her son, Todd Nathan Turner of Olympia, Washington; her beloved grandson, Clayton Randle Hickman; and her siblings, Tami Miller, Gene Miller Jr., and Patty Heath. She also leaves behind extended family and many friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing her.

Teri’s life was a testament to the love she had for her family and the joy she found in caring for others. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, in the traditions she created, in the cards and gifts she so thoughtfully sent, and in the countless stories that will continue to be shared about her.

A memorial service celebrating Teri’s life will be held
