

On Monday, November 1st, 2021 at 10:30 p.m., our heavenly Father reached out His loving holy hands to our beloved Mother and Grandmother Thelma “Pat” Margaret Greig and spoke softly to her these words: “Come with me Thelma; you have lived a good long life. Your job is here is done, and now it’s time to come home. “With those words, Mom put her hand into His. He then lifted up her beautiful, loving soul, wrapped His holy wings around her, and took her to live for all eternity in heaven with Him.
Thelma was born on Thursday June 21, 1934 at 9:00 p.m. in Tampa Bay, Florida. She graduated from Hillsborough High School in Tampa Bay at the age of 17. In the early 1950’s, she was crowned “Queen of the USO.” On June 9, 1956, Thelma married her husband Bill. They remained married until his death on September 5th, 2019.
Thelma worked much of her life as an information 411 operator until she retired, working only briefly in a nursery while her husband Bill was stationed at Norton AFB in Highland, California. She was living in Las Vegas, Nevada at the time of her passing. Her hobbies included gambling and binge watching Blue Bloods and Chicago PD.
Thelma is preceded in death by her mother Nellie Carol (Smith) Lala and her father Jack Lala, Sr.; her sister Catherine Frances Lala and her brothers Frank Fairchild and Jack Lala Jr.; her husband William (Bill) Black Greig; her daughter Sharon Catherine (Greig) Gipson; and nephew Richard Greig, as well as her mother-in-law Margaret Greig and father-in-law David Greig, brother-in-laws Jim Greig and Dave Greig, and sister-in-laws Ann Greig and Dorothy Greig.
She is survived by her son William David Greig and her daughter Margaret Carol (Greig) Zelaya; her three grandchildren Stephanie Marie Vasquez, William Edward Vasquez, and Diana Catherine Zelaya; and five great-grandchildren David, Patricia, Anthony, Julian, and Jackson. She is also survived by her niece Patricia Fairchild and nephew Jack Lala III, as well as nieces by marriage Beverly Greig and Janet Greig, and nephews by marriage Jim Greig, Richard Greig, Robert Greig, and David John Greig.
A visitation for Thelma will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
Thelma will be laid to rest in Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
