Her parents were Olivia Elizabeth Oatman Franzetti and John Joseph Franzetti. Her mother, Olivia, was born in Fredricksburg, Texas and later moved to Austin. Her Dad, John Joseph Franzetti was born in Malgesso, Italy. He came to the U.S. with his aunt Maditta at age 7 in 1903. When she was born she had blonde hair and blue eyes her Dad called her "Yucca" after the flower.
Mom met our Dad at Austin High School when they were teenagers and were inseparable for 62 years.
They had a long and adventurous life together living in Austin, Dallas, Curacao and Singapore. Mom was a loving, faithful wife and she loved being a "hands-on" Mom to my brother and I. She also enjoyed being a grandmother to her 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She loved to tap dance and had the honor of dancing for Will Rogers at Gregory Gym. She learned later in life to "clog" and Square Dance. They were both President of the Kissing Cousins Square Dancing Club.
