Tonya Gail Hernandez-Hart

Tonya graduated from Desoto High School, received her bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of Texas in Austin, and her master’s degree in Public Administration from Texas State University. She worked for 11 years as a public school teacher in the Dallas and Austin areas. She later worked for the state of Texas at the Legislative Budget Board.

She married Josh on November 7th 2014 in Costa Rica. Tonya had an incredibly kind and generous spirit and possessed a smile that lit up any room. She loved traveling, laughing with friends and family, chihuahuas, and the color black. She adored Halloween, and had an endless passion for learning and exploring new places and things.

Tonya is survived by her husband Josh, parents Fred and Gay Hart, sister Tiffany Rockford and husband Alex, and her beloved Chico. She was proceeded in death by her grandparents Nelva Joyce and Eddy Ray Hernandez and Fred Howard Hart and Mary Elizabeth Hart.
