Dear Alexander Family, 

My name is Reem and I am an old student of Mrs. Alexander. She taught me 8th-grade US history at Kelly Lane Middle School. To this day, I think about the effects she has had on my life. Mrs. Alexander is kind, gentle, sweet, and most importantly, an individual who cared about others. I know she was an amazing mother who raised amazing children. Her legacy lives through the lives she has touched. 

I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother, daughter, wife, and teacher. May her soul rest in peace. I hope God may strengthen you as you experience this loss. 

Veronica was a mentor to me at KLMS and I can never forget the dedication, kindness, and strength she lived and modeled. 

When I made the switch from ELA to U. S. History, Veronica took me under her wing - sharing all of her knowledge and resources. I will never forget THE BINDERS and Veronica swearing if there was ever a fire, she would run into the building to save them! 😂 We started my own set of binders and now, I too, have an impressive collection bursting with materials. Many of her solid tips and tricks have stayed with me and are part of my daily routine - she lives on in my classroom. Just last week the Bill of Rights song was ringing down the hallways of KLMS and will continue to honor her memory and engage students with their rights. 

It’s hard to imagine a world without Veronica’s feisty love, but I know it will live on through her memory and all of the lives she has touched. My deepest condolences.

Veronica is known for her passion for teaching, she loved her students dearly and pushed them to succeed ALL of them.  I remember substituting for her while she was recovering; myself, and an inclusion teacher was on her class..Veronica cared so much about her students, she decided to virtually teach the class from her bed or chair at home, dedicated is what she was, and we will always remember her for her genuine heart for staff and students alike...love and miss you VERONICA!!.

Any time I think of camping, I think about a family 4th of July camping trip in California. Though it may have have been Ronnie’s first camp out in the woods, she kept a smile on her face.  She graciously endured cold nights, hot days and lots of dirt! She encouraged the kids to explore and enjoy that new experience even knowing “glamping” was probably her preferred form of camping.  Over the years we shared laughs and love.  In the last couple weeks of her life I was privileged to be her “game show buddy”.   You will be forever in my heart.  I’ll see you in heaven!

This is my lasting memory of Veronica.  I said goodbye to her over a year ago as I was leaving Cele.  While I had never had the opportunity to work closely with Veronica we had some good talks especially in the face of these last few years.  I just remember being so concerned about her diagnosis but she was just focused on continuing to dedicate herself to her students and her family.

Her strength in the face of any challenge she encountered inspired me to fight my own battles with her grace.  Her memory will be a continued source of strength and inspiration for the rest of my life. 

Veronica- what a privilege and an honor to have known and been loved by you! Veronica  exemplified DAILY what being nice and caring “ for no reason at all” looked like! Veronica was known for “just checking on you” wether it was swinging by your room/office or simply in the form of a text. I even messed w/her in that last week about asking ME if I needed anything but that indeed was who Veronica was, always making sure everyone was ok and not in need! Veronica also modeled respect in her daily living I always thought it was cool that at any point you would hear her use ma’am/sir in a respectful way wether it was a kid/student or an actually elder of hers! If you ever taught near or around Veronica not only do you probably still hear or think of that “Bill of Rights” song but you also got to see firsthand what a model teacher looks like! She truly cared about the kids and the content and taught it in a way that students were able to find value in it and understand the importance in the good, bad, & ugly parts of history! Although I find myself still waiting for a text one thing I can hold on to is her voice that I still hear so clearly in my head. I hope to anyone reading this that you too continue to hear Veronica’s voice, see her smile or her side eye😉, and remember the example of love, strength, & kindness that she modeled for us daily to carry on. I miss you more than I can really articulate but I’m beyond appreciative that God saw fit to place you in my life and loan me a  “Golden Girl”

have done exceptionally well over the last couple years and what Veronica would want😉...when times got tough I witnessed first hand how y’all talked through it, stuck by each other & gave each other grace & an extra ounce of understanding when needed, made sure to find something to laugh about or had “game night” to simply lighten the mood. Keep doing those things, continue to be “Alexander Strong”! Veronica was the happiest when she talked about you three even if she was shaking her head and chuckling while doing so! I hope you always remember how you made her face light up and her heart burst just by being yourselves! I love you all dearly and although this whole thing succckksss I’m always a call or text away to help as needed! Besides I promised Veronica I’d bug y’all time to time 😉 so there’s no getting rid of me

My condolences to the Arevalo and Alexander Families.  I will always remember the beautiful person that Veronica was.  From the time she was a young baby until now as an adult.  I have seen Veronica grow up through the years and live and thrive.  She will always be a part of my family!  

My condolences to the entire family , I met Veronica when Kennedy and my son attended Avilas soccer training when they were young . We were there chatting all the time and became good  soccer friends . 
We would always talk about soccer and how our kids were doing , then she moved to teach at Cele when our kids where at middle school , then our kids graduated together . After that I would stop and chat with her as we were always at HEB at the same time on Sundays . She was such a nice and caring person .  
May her memories be with her family and children forever.

When I was an EA a few years ago Veronica was always so kind to me.  She always answered my questions about becoming a teacher and I really enjoyed talking to her everyday after class. I am so sorry to hear about her passing.  My heart goes out to her family during this difficult time.

Our family was so blessed to have Veronica join it 23 years ago.  So many wonderful memories of weddings, births, and all of the special events that families share. We are so grateful to have been able to share in Veronica’s journey. She will forever be in our hearts.

Veronica was my closest friend at Cele Middle School.  When I was a new teacher, she casually walked into my classroom one day to check on me, and then kept checking on me for the next 6 years.  She was a strong and calm presence; a sounding board for concerns, a touchstone to keep me grounded, and a friend to laugh with.  Friendship came naturally; she just had a way of connecting with people and making them feel heard and appreciated.  I will forever hear her calmly telling me “It’s going to be okay.”  
I miss you, sweet friend.

I was blessed to work with Veronica at Kelly Lane and sad when she left us to go to Cele! I remember her ever present sweet smile and kind personality. I can't imagine anyone not feeling her goodness and grace.

Veronica was so strong and yet lived so light.  She truly carried the burdens of many people.  She didn’t just hear them once and send her advice or condolences. She asked you about it over and over again. She did something about it if she could.  She did this even when there is now way she had much physical strength.  Even with all her inner strength and carrying  everyone’s issues, she was joyous.  She lit up when talking about her family. When she talked about her husband, I would think to myself, I hope I love my husband like Veronica does when we’ve been married that long. When she talked about her kids, I though, I hope I adore my kids when they are teenagers   When Veronica talked about her parents, I thought, I hope I still take the time and care for my parents when I’m older.  Now, when I think about Veronica, I hope I can love like she did.   

Veronica became an amazing friend to me at Luna MS. My heart is so sad. I did not know about her illness. We shared stories daily about our kids. Her soft spoken Tommy and her fiery Kennedy. She felt bad punishing her son by taking his reading books away. She would take deep breaths telling stories of her determined daughter. We would laugh knowing both of these traits came from her. The last time we spoke, Tommy was in high school, and I was shocked at how much time had passed. I always knew that no matter how many years passed that we would pick up where we left off as friends. Prayers and love to her parents who she loved so much, her sister and brother and mostly to Thomas, Tommy and Kennedy. You have your mom in your hearts and in your soul. I feel blessed to have had her as my friend for years.

My deepest condolences 💐 

I had the pleasure of teaching across the hall from Veronica at Kelly Lane MS. She was a wonderful co-worker and such a great teacher. She will be missed by so many. Your family is in my prayers. 

I love and miss you so much! You have always been an amazing friend. Heaven is so lucky to have an Angel like you. Don't drink too many margaritas now. 

I only met Veronica once in California  when her children were about two and four years old. I remember at the time being impressed with what a loving and calm mother she was.  

My heart goes out to Thomas, her children and her entire family! May God’s presence bring you solace during this very difficult time.

Mrs. Alexander was my daughter's teacher last year.  She was always very supportive and caring to my daughter, even in the midst of her own illness and difficulties.  I will never forget her kindness.  My daughter is devastated by her loss and will always remember her as a great and caring teacher.  May her memory be a blessing.

When I think of Veronica, my mind goes to Proverbs 31:10.  "A wife of noble character who can find?  She is worth far more than rubies.  Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. Veronica was an amazing teacher and person. She and I shared many laughs while we both were at Kelly Lane MS.  I always thought if she had been my social studies teacher, I would have liked history so much more. I miss her beautiful smile and laughter.  

Veronica was such a kind and caring friend. She always was so upbeat and cheerful, and was such a hard worker and a fantastic educator. I will miss our regular morning conversations and the positive energy that she brought everywhere she went. She was a special person, and was very loved.
