OBITUARY

Vincent Moreno Lopez

October 25, 1972October 19, 2015

Vincent Moreno Lopez passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015. He was a man loved by all who knew him or had an opportunity to meet him. Vincent was a talented artist, writer, music lover, advocate and an inspirational speaker. Although battling muscular dystrophy from an early age, he never let adversity stand in the way of his dreams, beliefs or the inspiration behind them. He loved to travel and did not let his disability get in the way of seeing the places he loved including Amsterdam and Canada. Our brother will dearly be missed!

Vincent is survived by his parents, Josephine and Francisco Lopez; his brother Gilbert M. Lopez, sister in law Margaret Masters and nephew Liam Lopez; his sister Monica Pinales, brother in law Robert Pinales, nieces Valerie Lopez and Anaisa Pinales and nephew Isaac Pinales. In addition he is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

I've never met a more effective, resilient and respected advocate than Vincent Lopez. For years, we worked together at the Capitol, trying to pass medicinal marijuana legislation intended to help countless people with serious medical conditions. I salute you, Vincent, for your outstanding work and commitment. And I thank you for your friendship. Rep. Elliott Naishtat (Austin,TX)
