

On January 3, 1958 Virginia married the love of her life, Vernon C. Wheeler in Houston, Texas. Virginia was blessed with a son, Glenn A. Stowe, from a previous marriage.
Virginia started working for the City of Houston in 1952 as an elevator operator where she retired as a receptionist after over 40 years of service.
Virginia was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of Burkeville Toledo Bend U.P.C. and currently attended the Cowboy Church of Houston County in Grapeland, Texas where she lived.
Virginia enjoyed watching western movies, the Crocodile Hunter and religious shows. She enjoyed visiting and traveling with her friends and family. She liked to play dominoes. She thoroughly enjoyed shopping and an occasional trip to the casino. Her favorite food was barbeque.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mamie Dry; husband, Vernon in 1992, son, Glenn Stowe in 2007; grandson, Andy Stowe in 1984; brother, Merle Dry and sister, Patsy McMahon.
Virginia is survived by her stepdaughters, Enid McNice and Sandra Kaminski & husband Richard; daughter-in-law, Susan Stowe Thornton; brother, Fred Dry & wife Ruth; grandchildren, Dee Dee Hepner & husband Bobby; Amy Stowe; Matthew Stowe & wife Lizzy; great-grandchildren, Beau, Amanda & Julia Hepner, and Montana & Elisa Stowe; niece, Yvonne Lyons & husband Buddy; great-nieces, Kerri & Karen Lyons; nephew, Fredrick Lee Dry & wife Michelle; and numerous other family members and friends.
A visitation will begin at 12 noon, Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Brookside Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm in the Family Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston, Texas.
