

W.B. Francis was born in Prague, Oklahoma, on May 22, 1916 and passed on January 15, 2011. He was 94 years old. He is survived by his wife, Lou Edith Martin Francis. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in March. He and Lou Edith had four children: son William Driver Francis (deceased) and his wife Lois, daughter Haila Francis Kauffman and her husband Bobby, son Gregory Kittrell Francis, and son Robert King Francis. He is also survived by grandson Scott Kauffman and wife Sarah, and great grandson Luke, grandson Wade Francis and wife Jennifer and great grandchildren Blake, Celeste, and Ava, granddaughter Wendy Francis Hill and husband Brian, and grandson William Francis, and many nieces and nephews.
W.B. and Lou Edith married at University Methodist Church in Austin, Texas, where both were attending The University of Texas. W.B. graduated in 1941 and took his new bride Lou Edith to live in Spur, Texas. He had a cotton gin in Girard, Texas, was a cattle rancher, and farmed. He always wanted to bring his family back to Austin and did so in 1959. He went to work at The University of Texas in the Cotton Research Department. He had the Francis Washaterias in Austin on West Mary, Airport Blvd. at Springdale Road, St. Elmo and Montopolis.
Graveside services will be held at Cook-Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at one o’clock in the afternoon. Reception to follow in Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home.
