William Leslie Burgan passed away February 2, 2023 at the age of 66 at Houston Methodist Hospital in the Woodlands, Texas. He was born March 1, 1956 in Lexington, Kentucky and was a huge Wildcats fan for life. He moved to Texas in 1971 and attended Round Rock High School where he made some of his favorite lifelong friends and memories playing basketball for the Dragons.
He received his degree in Business Management from Texas State University, and his career as a Procurement Engineer led him to work for leading companies in the tech industry such as Texas Instruments, Compaq, Hewlett Packard, Siemens, and Toshiba over the course of 35 years. He was a strong manager in his industry who successfully coached and led teams to achieve beyond expectations.
He passed on his love of sports to all three of his children and greatly cherished the years he spent coaching their little league baseball and youth basketball teams. He was a devoted Christian, longtime member - and former Deputy Grand Knight - of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of The Fellowship of the Woodlands Church. He enjoyed doing things for those in need and was very passionate about volunteer work. This led him to find Kairos Ministries where he spent time strengthening the faith of incarcerated men at Eastham Unit Prison, something that brought him a great deal of purpose in life.
Bill is survived by his three children, Sarah Burgan, Kady Burgan, and Billy Burgan as well as his sisters Janice Roberts and Lisa Scruggs, and his brother Bryan Burgan.
Bill will be remembered for his outstanding leadership skills, his athletic youth coaching, his amazing sense of humor, and being a wonderful father and brother.
A funeral service for William will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
