William Henry “Bill” Fowler, Sr.

William Henry “Bill” Fowler Sr. was born in Austin, Texas, July 17, 1944 to Melvin and Lillie Arthur (L.A.) Dickerson-Fowler. As a young man William accepted Jesus Christ in his life and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he attended Sunday School and other church programs under the pastoral leadership of Reverend S. L. Davis. He later joined Greater St. Johns Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Clarence Jones. At Greater St. Johns he was a member of the Brotherhood and often worked with the youth, before his health failed.
William proudly served his country in the United States Army.
William enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, calf roping, church camping trips and car racing. He often traveled through the Untied States.
William was a joyous loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to all of those he loved dearly. His sudden passing has left an unfathomable hole in our hearts. His laughter and smile would light up any room. He took his love, thoughtfulness and kind nature wherever he went. Those that he crossed paths with felt his wonderful delightful spirit instantly. We all are grateful for the time God allowed us with him.
William is proceeded in death by his Father and Mother Melvin Sr. and Lillie Arthur (L.A.) Dickerson-Fowler. Two brothers; Melvin Fowler Jr. and Maurice Fowler.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Crystal; children; Rodney (Michelle), Denyse, William (Bill) Jr. (Marie), Keith, Darryl, Maurice (Nikki), Derrick, Tina, Frederick (Bianca), Nikki, and RayJon Ray brother Donald Fowler; sisters, Eleanor Sims and Lillie Jones; (28) grandchildren, (44) great-grandchildren, (12), great great-grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
