Willie Carl Benford

Willie accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Woodrow Baptist Church. He served on the usher board for a short time.

Willie received his GED from Del Valle High School in Del Valle, TX. Willie enjoyed playing basketball. Some of his enjoyment in life came from watching Dallas Cowboys games and spending time with his grandchildren when he could.

Willie married Margarita Perales, and to this union were born two children, Michael Carl Benford and Kimberly N. Benford. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to those who knew him.

Willie spent 19 years with Thressa Kullhem. No children were born to this union. He did have the pleasure of enjoying seven grandchildren and helping those grandchildren whenever they called upon him. Jenassia Smith, Kayla Benford, Zaydyn and Zachariah Benford, Layla, Linda and Lacy Kullhem.

Willie was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jenassia Smith; his father, Reverend Woody R. Benford; his loving mother, Kathryn Benford; and four brothers, Bennie, Woody Jr., Thurman, and Larry Benford.

He leaves to cherish his memory a soulmate of 19 years, Thressa Kullhem; two children, Michael and Kimberly Benford; and six grandchildren: Kayla Benford, Zaydyn and Zachariah Benford, Layla, Lindi, and Lacey CeLeu Kullhem. Two brothers, Robert (Cynthia) of Waxahachie, TX; Sandra Kaye Benford and Kathleen McKinney of Pflugerville, TX; Kevin (Kristen) of Florence, TX; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and special friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660, on July 11, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am.
