

Willie Lee King, Jr. passed away peacefully on October 25, 2015 at the age of 99 at Buckner Villas, Campbell Unit. He was born on March 24, 1916 in Austin, Texas to the late Willie Lee and Alice Hancock King. He was preceded in death by his parents, son James P. King, one brother, and two sisters.
He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife of 72 years, Eula M. King; daughter, Harriet Brown and husband Joseph; grandson, Chris King; goddaughters, April Gayden and Paulette Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
He retired after 32 years with Brackenridge Hospital in the X-Ray Department. He loved to read, and read the newspaper daily. He enjoyed keeping up with current events by watching CNN. He was also a sports fan, and his favorite sport was baseball. He also enjoyed discussing politics with his friends. He loved taking vacations and going on train rides with his wife.
He was a life-long member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, and was a faithful member of the Men’s Sunday School, Discipleship training and brotherhood until his health failed.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1010 East 10th Street in Austin, with a Homegoing Celebration beginning at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
