Al Chiles Wickliffe III, age 76, of Tempe, Arizona, passed away on
February 26, 2023 in Chandler, Arizona.
Arrangements are with Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services Maryvale Chapel. Al will be laid to rest with his family at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Al was born in Lawton, Oklahoma to Al C. Wickliffe, Jr. and Gladys (Hope) Stothard Wickliffe on September 24, 1946. He grew up in Lawton attending local schools and graduated from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s degree in History.
Al worked as a Financial Planner for several years. He was an avid sports enthusiast and had a larger-than-life disposition. He often loved to tease friends, but always in a good-natured way and with great affection towards those whom he considered a friend. Al shared many great stories, which often also served as little pearls of wisdom for those who would seize the opportunity by listening to what he had to say. He had a great sense of humor and never missed an opportunity to exercise his comedic skills.
He is survived by his niece Heather Boykin and great nieces Emily Boykin, Abby Boykin, Olivia Boykin and great nephew Landon Boykin all of Shreveport, Louisiana, sister-in-law Louise Wickliffe of Plano, Texas, and loving friends Ryan and Carrie Lynn, Will Acosta and Kirk Blaner. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert R. Wickliffe.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Green Acres Assisted Living Home and PRISM Hospice, LLC. With special thanks to David Friedman and Blake Caraballo.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.AdvantageMaryvale.com for the Wickliffe family.
