I was there just before he passed. He told me funny stories about his job and motercycle. I loved when I couldn't stop laughing I will miss his stories but I will keep o telling them for generations!!!!

Alan and I were in the same sociology class in 11th grade. (We had already known each other almost 3 years, at this point. This was the first and only class that we shared, however.)
The two of us just fed off of each other and kept the class "charged." We were not afraid to speak our minds! I truly think we scared the teacher in some respects. We were both well spoken and intelligent. We knew how felt about the topics discussed and we just kept pushing back on the stuff that we took issue with.
Alan kept me sane and on task, for sure!
Had it not been for him I would have certainly dropped the class or failed because I was easily bored.
He made it fun and kept it interesting.
Alan always made things fun! His passion for life is one of the things that I will hold onto and carry with me.





The earliest memory I have of our Dear Alan was the JOYOUS phone call from Mom and Dad announcing Alan's birth. I see and hear the moment as though it just happened. Holding Alan in my arms for the first of what was to be hundreds (if not thousands) of times, and being Alan's nanny that first summer, is to this day at the top of the most cherished experiences of my life. In Alan's early adulthood, the fondest and most striking memory I have is a family day at Square Lake when I met Jill for the first time, and David confided to me that he wanted Alan to let Jill know she is THE ONE.  For the rest of the day I kept watch on Alan's attentions on Jill and it was obvious David's instincts were perfect. Their wedding was a spellbinding display of pure rapture and total commitment, giving over to their guests all the unconditional love equal to that as they shared for each other. There are far too many exceptional highlights of Alan's childhood and development into manhood to single out a single milestone that defines him. The term "renaissance man" falls short to describe Alan's intellectual capacities and abilities, his limitless curiosities, the wide ranging multi-faceted accomplishments and developments, the artistic and creative talents and skills, and most of all his boundless generosities. Jill, there is no measure that exists for the sorrow we all feel for your loss. May knowing Alan's passion and devotion for you is living on in our hearts bear you some comfort. A TRUE ANGEL ON THE EARTH WHILE HE WALKED IT, A SUPER NOVA IN THE GALAXY NOW.
