

Albert chose to bypass high-school graduation to contribute to the war effort by joining the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He then was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad as a block operator and finished his work career as a Claim Adjustor with New Jersey Manufacturers.
Albert Young was a devoted spouse, parent, sibling, and uncle. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Lawton) Young, his daughters Sheryl Farah and Janet Appelt and their spouses, his stepdaughter, Chrisann (Baker) Dawson and her spouse, his grandchildren, Leigh Bull and Brian Schwartz, and step-grandchildren, Joshua Wurst, Casey (Wurst) Rozehnal, Suzannah (Dawson) Aldridge, Mackay (Dawson) Hicks, and William Dawson, and their spouses. Albert is also survived by his nephews, David Albert Yeager and Peter Edmund Yeager, and niece Lisa (Yeager) Reynolds.
Albert is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Dorothy (Young) Yeager, his daughter Carol (Young) Schwartz, and his stepdaughter Tracey (Baker) Wurst.
Albert was a loyal, generous, and loving husband, spouse, parent, grandparent, and friend, who enjoyed biking, reading, sharing his faith, and pestering waitresses with his famous number puzzles. He worshipped at Faith Baptist Church in Fairless Hills, PA, North Valley Baptist Church in Phoenix, AZ, and First Baptist Church of Payson, AZ.
The two-part funeral will be held at North Valley Baptist Church in Phoenix and the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on Thursday, November 6, 2025. At North Valley Baptist Church, a
closed-casket wake will be held from 10:30-11:00. From 11:00-11:45, a memorial service will take place. At the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, the interment will happen from 12:30-1:00. North Valley Baptist Church is at 2109 E. Rose Garden Lane, Phoenix. The National Memorial Cemetery is at 2929 E. Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix.
