

He was born in Phoenix, Arizona on January 22, 1948. Allen graduated from Phoenix College with an Associate of Arts degree.
On March 16, 1972, he married Kathleen Ann Tapija (McCasland), and they shared a long and loving life together.
Allen had a career in carpentry and was a proud local union member, working for many companies both in Arizona and out of state. He was a member of the Hualapai Tribe and carried great pride in his heritage.
He had a deep passion for sports and outdoor activities, including biking, running, swimming, golfing, and hiking. Allen loved dogs and was an avid animal lover who cherished the earth and nature.
He is survived by his son, Nathan Grant Tapija; siblings Rose, Christine, Luke, and Bryant; and was preceded in death by his siblings: Daniel, Inez, Glory, Grace, Grant Jr., and Larry.
Allen’s life was one of dedication, passion, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, located at 2350 East Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ 85022, on July 18, 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
The funeral service will follow at the same venue from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A graveside service is scheduled at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 2929 E Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024, on July 18, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.
