On Tuesday, February 24, 2021, Alyne Ray Green Wagner, passed away at the age of 87 in her daughters home under Hospice care. Alyne was born on December 3, 1933 in Ft Worth, Texas to Dugger & Mary Pauline (Barron) Ray. She was the youngest of four children, 3 brothers, J.W. Ray, Julian Ray & Barron Ray (preceding her in death). Around the young age of 2, her family decided to move to Tyler, Texas where she lived until after marriage. On May 9th, 1952, she married Weldon Leon Green in the First Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas. After marriage they opened a 2nd Green’s Grocery Store that they had with Weldon’s parents, Leon & Mary (Boynton) Green who worked the original store. In December of 1955 they welcomed their only child, Mary Jane Green in to the family. In 1965, Weldon’s job took him to Meterie, Louisiana where Weldon passed away on May 31, 1967 with cancer. They were married for 15 years.
In May of 1971 Alyne had a brother, Julian Ray, who lived in Phoenix, AZ and decided to move for a fresh start. She began working for Industrial Indemnity Insurance Co. She continued to work there until her retirement in 1995 as a Senior Claims Adjustment Manager. She had become a member of North Phoenix Baptist Church, where she met her 2nd husband, Lt. Col. Robert Miles Wagner Sr. (Ret.) (decd.), in the singles department and were married December 31, 1973. She now had a blended family with an addition of 4 stepchildren, which was a blessing. During their marriage they continued to stay active in the church, camping, and exploring the USA. She sang in the church choir, gardened and was a member of the Gideon’s International Women’s Auxiliary. Bob & Alyne were married for 40 years prior to his death in 2012. Alyne was a loving mother & grandmother and valued her family. She had a generous heart and will be extremely missed.
Survivors are daughter, Mary Jane (Green) Boos, & Robert E. Boos, Chandler, AZ, grandchildren, Aaron M. Boos & Bethany (Black) Boos, Gilbert, AZ, Laura (Boos) Nero & Jacob C. Nero, Phoenix, AZ, 3 great grandchildren, Max, Lily & Emma Nero.
Survivors are Robert M. Wagner, Jr & Cheri Wagner (decd.) Yuma, AZ, John Richard Wagner (decd.) & Patricia Wagner, Colorado Springs, CO, James Lowell Wagner (decd.), Elizabeth Wagner Burke, Fountain Hills, AZ. Grand children, Sarah & Josh Lanning, Yuma, AZ, Leah Wagner, Denver, CO, David & Michelle Wagner, Vail, AZ, Heather & Lazarus Jefferson, Colorado Springs, CO, Amity & Jorge Vargas, Colorado Springs, CO, Kyle Wagner, Fountain, CO, Meghan & Todd Shorten, Peoria, AZ, Kevin & Mariah Burke, Denver, CO, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.
