It has been one year, today, that my wonderful friend has passed. I pray for her everyday and for her family. Grief takes a long time and I think you never get over the great loss…you just learn to live with it.
I carry Dear Tess with me and find some comfort that she is in a better place. Tonight I will drink a toast to you, Tess. I miss you.

We met Tess in the mid 1980's soon after the Golden Greek restaurant opened.  Lee Johnson had been stationed in Greece in the late 1960's while in the Air Force and had a love for Greece.  We took our family to the Golden Greek until it closed around 2020.  The picture posted is of our son Aron in 2019 with Tess. He was around 7 years old 1st time he ate at Golden Greek.  Tess always remembered each of our favorite dishes we ordered,  joked around especially with Lee. 
So many fun memories.

Wine, chatty girl talk, some great dinner, more sharing and planning, and always our cup of amazing coffee freshly brewed off the stovetop.  Lots of hugs and kisses until we visited again where we’d pick up where we left off

Tessie is one of a kind, till we meet again!!  From the moment we met Tessie, Phil, and Mom so so many years ago the best of life’s memories was in sharing them with Tess.  I love you to the heavens and back.  We will finish that cookbook   Hugs and kisses

George and I were sadden to hear about Tessies passing.  We went to the Greek at least once a week over the years and became good friends with Tess and Phil.
Tess would always come sit at our table and visit and share stories.  Tess brought so much joy and laughter to our dinner's.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult lme.
So sorry we were not able to attend the service due to being out  of town.

I fondly remember Tesse’s sense of humor.  She always asked  about my family and friends.  She never let me forget the running joke “soup or salad” ( I didn’t switch it, Tess!).
I miss the Golden Greek family, Grandma’s fresh pita and my combo plate with Merlot.  Tess you will always be remembered.  Condolences for the whole family.💐💐💐

I met Tess and her family many many years ago finding the famous "Golden Greek" a place of many many meals shared with my family and friends! Such a great hostess/greeter when walking in...she had a dry sense of humor at times but I enjoyed her company when she had a few minutes to chat.
She left us too early and she will be dearly missed! 
She will blossom in heaven with her cooking, gardening and able to kick her feet up and take a break as an angel!
Tess...fly with all the angels...we will see each other one day!

Thanks to Tessie and all of you we have fond memories from more than 20 years since we met you at the Golden Greek.  Tessie and your family always greeted us with a warm smile and a hug.  We have been blessed to be able to share the family recipes/food, anecdotes of vacation/travels, and Nicholas' and Savas' growth.

We have been and are touched by Tessie's unwavering faith, strength of spirit, generosity, joie de vivre, sense of humor, creativity, spontaneity, warm-heartedness, and presence.  We sense that Tessie touched the lives of many people and made a real difference in her world.  We are grateful to have been and to be part of her world.  Tessie will be forever in our hearts and memory.

There are too few Tess's in the world.  She would do anything to help friends .  She was an excellent  cook and loved to share with her friends and family.

Tess was a dear friend whose generosity of time, spirit, and attention was much appreciated.
Dinner at Tess’ was a treat indeed, and our since-passed Woody loved, loved the treats she sent home for him. We love our dogs!
May her beautiful spirit live forever!

My deepest sympathy to all the family. Tess left us way too soon.
She was a dear, dear friend and so generous and supportive with her time and talent. Not a day has gone by since she left without fond thoughts and memories of her.  She enveloped me as part of her family treating me as a sister with whom she could share feelings and I back to her.  We were dog lovers and had humorous stories about each of ours. When I needed any help Tess was right there…shopping for plants, planting my garden, cleaning my large fountain…even giving my dog a bath! Tess had my back. I am lost without her. She was a gourmet chef and many nights we shared recipes and food experiments and wonderful stories. She was a woman of courage, great heart/love, generosity, wisdom and a spirit of adventure.  Tess loved her family and loved when they feasted around her table. Thank you, Tess, for including me.  Part of my heart goes with you .
