Sincere condolences from Alice's daughters, Jackie and Pamela.  Aneta will be missed by many, including her loving husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, friends, and the rest of the family.  We didn't get to spend a lot of time with Aneta, since we lived so far away, but the times spent with her were very nice and memorable.  Aneta was the first born cousin of 27 on the Smiljanic side!  The Wisconsin cousins still talk about the fact that it would have been nice if we could have spent more time with our Arizona cousins!  We are all family.  God bless.

Mom, I know we had our ups and downs but all the downs are gone from my memories. I will always remember the fun we had together, floating down the river, going to the Grand Canyon, working together at Glencroft.

Dear Mom ( Sug ),

We were always as close as 2 bugs in a rug and at night we would always sit up late and talk talk talk or we would practice singing together or sometimes I would just listen to you and Frank practice your music. When I was little you always made my holiday outfits and fixed my hair, my favorite was Valentines Day when we made heart socks, heart belt and heart headband for my hair that you would put in a bun for me, boy was I cute. Then there were the holidays that you always made special like x-mas when we would do cookie cutouts and the boys were always good to frost at least a dozen then you and I would end up frostimg the rest of the night. Then there were the summers that we took vacation and every friday night when you and Alisha got out of nursing school we'd be waiting with the car and camper loaded and ready to go to Mexico for the weekend or when we all decided to go to the Grand Canyon cuz Tony could get the company RV and how we laughed all the way there when every mountain that we hit which was alot, all the deisels would pass right by us. I think that thing could only go about 15 mph and what a gas guzzler it was. Then when I hit high school was about the time I remember your health starting to get bad but bless you, you were always a trooper no matter what, you used to always tell me you were so tired of being sick and in and out of the hospitals. I'm glad that that pain has finally been taken away for good and you can finally have peace. Thank you for being a great mother to me, a grandmother that was aways there for the boys and mother in law that always included Tony.

Though are relationship the past few years has been rough I'm going to miss you. Know that I love you and I have always loved you and will continue to love you.

Dear Ed and Anita's Sisters:
It is with deep sadness that the Wisconsin paternal aunts and uncle learn of the passing of Anita.  She spent many years of her early youth growing up here in Wisconsin.  We have many fond and happy memories of Anita as a child when she spent time with paternal  Grand Dad and Grand Mom Smiljanic before her doctors felt she should move to a climate which would better serve her health issues.  What a trooper she was!  Throughout her illness, she was an optimist.  Never complaining.  Always looking on the happy side of her life.  She was proud of her Croatian heritage but also was a true American Patriot!   She kept in touch with her Wisconsin relatives--always remembering them at Christmas.  We can be happy that she is finally in a place where there is no suffering and no pain.  We will remember our Anita and never forget her. We all are extremely sorry we cannot be with you in your final tribute to Anita.  We will be there in heart and in spirit.  With love to all of you.  Your Wisconsin Aunts Mary, Helen, Jeanne, Rose and your Uncle Doug.


Gram, I will miss you so much. You were a great grama and we've been through alot.I remember all the trips we went on and all the fun we had,but I will never forget you.  Love Chris

It is so weird without you.  I miss you so much!  I miss our talks (oh how I loved our talks), our cooking (you cooking and me watching lol), going to the movies (Sex and the City and My Sisters keeper), writing to Dr. Phil (always trying to change the world), watching CNN (hoping they find baby Gabriel), and teaching you how to check your e-mail.  But what I will miss the most is watching you as you had Lily on your lap, reading mother goose, and singing Patty Cake.  You were an amazing grandma to me and Chris, an amazing great grandma to Lily, and amazing women.  You will be remembered as one of the strongest womem that I've ever known and I appreciate how you opened your arms and welcomed me to your family when you met me.  You're a beautiful woman and holidays and birthdays will not be the same without you, but I will make sure that nobody ever forgets what a difference you made in my life.  I love you Nanny, It's so hard to let you go, but I will see you again one day and I can't wait.

I write this through tears because you are no longer just across the street from us.  I'm afraid I took this for granted.  Life has been so challenging and busy over the past couple of years and I am so sorry I didn't spend more time with you.  You are such a great friend, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  I know your family meant everything to you and how much you loved them.  I will remember your smile, your sparkling eyes, and your friendship.  I know you are with the angels, no longer in pain and breathing effortlessly.  I already miss you my friend. To my Aunt (God Mother),

I have such fond childhood memories that I will treasure for the rest of my life!  birthday parties, Easter egg hunts, trips to Disneyland, Mexico and Las Vegas. I remember playing pin the tail on the donkey and smear birthday cake all over the place. The Easter egg hunts where you would always show me where the best eggs were. The trip to Disneyland when Uncle Ed wouldn't pull over or find me a bathroom....remember what a mess that made. The babysitter you thought would last in Vegas, the one that Dewayne and Tammy and I ran off.  The time at Grams and Pops when you pierced my ears and how you did my hair in the funky up twist like yours and how sexy I thought I was. I will always remember the times on 18th street where if I close my eyes and remember back,  I can still hear you sing and how I wanted to be a singing nurse too. I can still here you say Neigh you always have someone to talk to, you can always come to your Aunt Aneta. 



Then life happens and childhood is now only a memory. I became an adult and had children of my own. Joshua has vivid memories of singing Christmas songs in the back yard at Grams and Pops and how he just knew that was Uncle Ed being Santa. He still can't figure out how you were able to show him that that wasn't Uncle Ed but really Santa. 



Now you are with Gram and Pop and finally at peace, as you are looking at us from above remember its me down here and you might need to look away every now and again because something's never change.



I love you Aunt Neta and you truly will be missed!

Aneta, although we didn't spend alot of time together, I'm going to miss knowing that you're around.  I just want to thank you for being such an awesome great grandmother to Lily and a true friend to Tasha. Your kindness did not go unappreciated.
