Anna Mae Barker was born on June 20, 1931 in Ouray, Colorado to John Rossi and Levy Zanella Rossi and was the second of three children. Anna attended school in Ouray Colorado and was a member of the graduating class of 1949. She worked at the drug store in Ouray where she met a Navy man, Ross Barker and was married in 1956. She was a Navy wife and was stationed in California, Alaska and Illinois. Upon retiring from the Navy, they settled in Denver, Colorado in 1969.
Anna gave birth to their daughter, Theresa, in 1957 and later to a son, Michael Kevin in 1964. In 1976 they moved to Phoenix, Arizona where Ross passed away in 1978. After working at K-Mart for 20 years Anna retired in 1996 and enjoyed an active social life in her retirement community. She was secretary of the Social Club and enjoyed playing Bingo, Potlucks and socializing with many friends. She was an avid sports fan and loved the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks and Denver Broncos. She especially enjoyed going to Albuquerque, where her son was a High School Football coach and attend his games.
In 2013 she relocated to Parker, Colorado where she lived with her daughter until her death. She was an active member of the Parker Senior Center where she loved participating in ceramics, sewing, fabric painting, and socializing with her many friends.
Her face would light up anytime there was a mention of her grandchildren or great grandchildren. She was loved by and loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anna passed away peacefully at home on November 17, 2020 and will be buried in Phoenix, Arizona along side Ross. Anna is survived by her daughter Theresa Bain (Michael), son Michael Kevin Barker (Barbie), and grandchildren Alan Bain, Brittney Mundy (Tyler), Brenden Barker, Brianne Barker, and great grandchildren Emerson Mundy and Lincoln Mundy.
