Antonio Santos Deanda, 84, of Peoria, AZ, with his beloved wife Marjorie by his side, was called to his heavenly home on January 15th, 2021, after years of suffering the effects of Alzheimer’s disease. He joins his parents, Victor F. and Louisa R. Deanda, his sister Ana Maria Bunnell, and his beautiful wife, Ruthanne Smith Deanda, in God’s loving embrace. He was born in Menard, TX in 1936. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and travelled the world. After about 10 years of military service, he met and married Ruthanne. With her by his side he continued his service to his country for another 19 years. He retired as Chief Master Sergeant in 1984. He later joined the US Postal Service as a mail carrier. Throughout his life he devoted his time faithfully to the Catholic Church. He was very proud to be a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and served as Grand Knight. He was a charitable giver and supported many patriotic and religious organizations. He was a loyal and loving husband, father and grandfather. After the death of Ruthanne, he found new love with Marjorie. They spent the remaining years of his life with one another. He is survived by his wife Marjorie; his children, Victor Deanda, Debra K (Simon) Billington, Steven Deanda, Catherine Shepple, Luisa (Joseph) Lukaszewski, Elizabeth (Michael) Hudspeth, his 16 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 4 great, great, grandchildren. All services will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 9728 W. Palmeras Dr., Sun City. We will celebrate his life on Thursday, February 18th with the visitation at 9am, the Holy Rosary at 9:30am and the Funeral Mass at 10am with interment to follow at Phoenix Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in his memory be made to the Diocese of Phoenix Vocations office or to the charity of your choice.
