Ardis Elaine Phillips

Ardis was born in Lansing, Michigan, on October 20, 1935, the daughter of Auburn and Lulah VanSyoc. She graduated from Belding High School in 1953 and went on to attend Michigan State University, where she met the love of her life, Ronnie.

A true lover of the arts, Ardis found joy in music throughout her life. She played the flute, saxophone, accordion, and piano, sharing her talents with family and friends. At home, she enjoyed crafting, camping in the RV, and never turned down a good card game. Her creativity, warmth, and curiosity touched all who knew her.

Ardis is survived by her sons, Steve (Carol) and Derek (Shirley); her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and several nieces. Her family and friends will remember her for her kindness, artistic spirit, and the love she poured into every aspect of her life.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Phoenix Mortuary Park. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 12:00 p.m., with graveside services at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ron Phillips New Horizon Band or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
