Armando Favela Urias, age 91, of Peoria, Arizona entered into Heaven on Thursday, February 20, 2025. Armando was born in Phoenix, Arizona on March 7, 1933, to Arturo Urias and Herminia Favela Urias, the third of ten children.
Armando met Velia in high school, and they were married the following September after graduating, together they had 6 children.
After marring he also joined the Army National Guard. He was deployed to Germany, to stand as a Gate Guard, with unit 11B.
Upon returning home, he began his 39-year career as an educator. He taught 4th through 8th grade in the Wilson School District.
Armando loved his Catholic Faith. He started attending St. Anthony Parish, then to Immucalate Heart. Later he became a parishioner at St. Rafiel and St. Helen.
Armando leaves behind his children, Ricky (Dorothy), Randy (Araceli), Raul (Sylvia), Roxanne (Stan), Joanne (Greg), Michael (Cathy); 17 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass is being held at St. Helens Catholic Church on April 3, 2025. Rosary at 0930, Mass at 10am and a reception to follow. A hero's interment at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona is scheduled for April 4, 2025, at 1030am.
