Atlee Mullet

Atlee Mullet of Phoenix, Arizona, went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2026, at the age of 87.

Atlee is survived by his three children, Debbie LeDune, Darrell Mullet (Kelly), and Donna Stack (Steve); seven grandchildren, Jessica Bowser (Chad), Alyssa Nowlin (Wes), Brandy Mingus, Josh (deceased), Jamie Melroy (Kenneth), Samantha Chamberlain (Stephen), Jacob Stack, and Jeremy Stack; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

On January 4, 1958, Atlee married the love of his life, Laura Kauffman, who preceded him in death. They shared 44 years of marriage. Atlee was born on April 3, 1939, in Claridon, Ohio, to Simon and Susan (Schmucker) Mullet. He was the firstborn of six children. His siblings include Kathy Raber, Dorothy Leonard (deceased), Betty Mast, Fred Mullet (deceased), and Naomi Stutzman (Doyle).

Atlee was a devoted husband and father, a loving grandfather, and a man of faith. He was deeply loved by his family and the many people whose lives he touched. Above all, Atlee loved the Lord with all of his heart.

While living in Ohio, Atlee attended Pleasant Hill Mennonite Church in Burton and worked for Chardon Rubber Company in Chardon for 17 years. In the summer of 1974, at the age of 35, Atlee made a life-changing move with his family from Ohio to Phoenix, Arizona.

There, Atlee and his wife, Laura, began a new chapter together when they started Desert Cove Restaurant. For 30 years, they owned and operated the restaurant, building not only a successful business but also countless friendships and memories along the way.

Atlee later worked as a shuttle driver at Midway Chevrolet for 12 years.

Family brought Atlee tremendous joy. He treasured the time he spent with his children and grandchildren, who held a very special place in his heart.

Atlee was an avid sports fan and especially loved cheering on the Arizona Diamondbacks and Phoenix Suns. He enjoyed attending their games and sharing those experiences with family and friends. He also had a love for golf and enjoyed the time he spent on the golf course.

Those who knew Atlee will remember his kind heart, strong faith, sense of humor, and the genuine joy he found in being surrounded by the people he loved.

Atlee was loved by so many, and the impact he made on his family, friends, church community, and all those fortunate enough to know him will not be forgotten.

His life was marked by faith, family, hard work, friendship, and joy. His memory will be lovingly carried forward by all who knew and loved him.
