Barbara grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, where she attended and graduated from Glendale High School. From an early age, Barbara knew her greatest dream was to become a mother. She pursued her passion by studying childhood development, preparing herself for the role she cherished most in life.
Barbara started her family early and truly loved being a mother. She was blessed with four children: Jesus (“Jesse”), Stephen, Amanda, and Ramon, who were the center of her world.
Barbara was a homemaker in the truest sense of the word. She rose each day to prepare meals for her children, ensuring they had lunches packed for school and a warm, home-cooked dinner waiting in the evening. She made it a priority that her family gathered together, creating a home filled with love, structure, and care. Barbara and her husband built a life centered on family. While her husband Chuy was the breadwinner, the children remember a childhood that, though modest, was filled with happiness and love. She dedicated her early years entirely to raising her children, and once her youngest, Ramon, began school, Barbara entered the workforce. She began her career at WinCo Styro Company, working in quality control for several years. She later worked at L.S. Starrett, a precision tool manufacturer, where she spent 13 years in customer service. Barbara continued her career at Antigua, serving as an account manager for a company known for its golf apparel. She eventually retired from Cabela’s after several years in customer service, where she formed many lasting friendships.
Barbara found great joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. She and her husband enjoyed taking their children fishing, camping, and creating memories that would last a lifetime. They made yearly driving trips to Mexico, where the family created many cherished memories together. She had a passion for rock hunting and was affectionately known as a “rock hound.” Gardening was another of her many joys—she had a true green thumb, nurturing fruit trees along with a yard full of beautiful flowers.
Barbara also embraced a self-sufficient lifestyle at times, raising chickens for fresh eggs and even, for a short while, caring for a goat—until she decided to send him to the land. She had a special love for wild birds and always made sure there was food at her home to keep them fed and returning.
Barbara cherished time spent with her dear friends, Janice, Michelle, Margaret, and Karen. Their lunch dates brought her great joy and laughter.
Barbara leaves behind her loving husband, Chuy; her children, Jesse (Patricia), Stephen, Amanda (Jeremy), and Ramon (Kimberly); and her cherished grandchildren, Diego, Ethan, Angelica, Victoria, Eli, Juliana, Isaiah, Noah, and Christian. She is also survived by her siblings, Gina and Donnie; and her nephew, Jake, whom she lovingly helped raise for many years.
Barbara was greeted in heaven by her parents, brother Bobbie as well as her Aunt Kay and Uncle Ruben, who cared for her during her younger years after the passing of her mother Carol.
Barbara will be remembered above all as the perfect mother—loving, devoted, strong, and selfless. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured and the lives she touched.
