

Barbara will be most remembered as a loving Wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the pillar of strength in her family's life and a beacon of light and joy to whoever she crossed paths with.
Barbra was the matriarch of her family. she cultivated
many of their traditions, a loving and warm home, and up held the family's faith.
Barbra was born in Buffalo, New York on September 1943, to parents Donald A.Mertensand Adella C. Mertens. She had a happy childhood. Her father instilled an adventurous spirit in
her during their many adventures in cross country moves; they moved from New York to Dallas Fort Worth Texas. During this time she won the Richland Hills third annual beauty banquet and
was crowned queen. Shortly after they settled in the San Fernando Valley, California. It is here where she attended high and where she met her husband, Jim Knight.
The two married in December 1961, and four years later they brought home their first child; a boy named Kenneth.Two years later they welcomed their second child; another boy, named James and their little family was complete. Barbra was a Homemaker in her newly wedded life, she supported her husband while he was in the police force and raised her children. In the mid 1970’s she went to work for her Father-in-law Joseph A. Knight at National Blue
Print, in North Hollywood. Then She made another big move to Phoenix, Arizona in the early 1980’s, where Barbra and her husband established, ran, and was President of Century Graphics up until 2018.
Barbra is survived by her loving husband Jim, two sons, Kenneth, James and daughter-in-law Sandra. five grandchildren Michael,Brandon and wife Alyssa,Alyson and husband Eithan,Marissa and Kathleen, and three great-grandchildren Jaxson,Riley, and Blakely.
She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
