

Barbara Anne Koenig, 84, entered into God's Eternal Heaven on April 01, 2021. She was born on August 22, 1935, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is survived by Kimberley, her daughter, Joseph, her adopted grandson, Liberty, her adopted granddaughter, her sisters Mary and Carolyn. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Harold Koenig, her mother, Harriet Rucker, her father Elgin Rucker, and her Eskimo (Belgin Island) maternal grandparents.
Barbara loved her family and her personal Lord and Savior. She was a long-time member of several churches - training other members to help lead others to Christ. She served as a missionary in Kenya, East Africa with her husband helping lead native Kenyans to the Lord.
Barbara's professional career involved being an Executive Assistant to the CEO of Ecological Science Corporation, the first publicly owned company to develop what is known today as the Science of Ecology where her husband, Harold Koenig, spearheaded the movement now celebrated as Earth Day.
Barbara was known to her family as their "Living Angel" as she selflessly and tirelessly put her family first and ensured peace was demonstrated.
Barbara's memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 1pm at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary Chapel. She will be joining her husband in burial at Arlington National Cemetary.
