Becky came to Phoenix in 1945 and spent most of her life in the community she called home. She attended Emerson Elementary School and graduated from Phoenix Union High School. She went on to attend Arizona State University, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Master's Degree in Special Education.
Teaching was an important part of Becky's life and career. She taught at Luke School for almost three decades before continuing her work in special education at New School for the Arts. Through her many years as an educator, Becky touched the lives of countless students and families with her dedication and compassion.
In retirement, Becky enjoyed the simple things that brought her happiness. She loved spending time with her dogs and cats and took great pleasure tending to her roses. Her love of animals and gardening remained a special part of her life.
The great love of her life was her grandson, Niko. They had a special bond that was evident to anyone who witnessed them together.
She is survived by her daughters, Denise Martin and Connie White; her grandson, Nicholas Konomos White; her brothers, George Konomos and Philip Konomos (Kandie Konomos); her sister, Anastasia Konomos (Paul Brinkmann). She was preceded in death by her brother, Peter Konomos (Patricia Konomos) and Susan Konomos (wife of surviving brother, George).
Becky will be remembered for her devotion to her family and friends, her many years of service as an educator, and the love she had for animals and her beautiful roses. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories with the many people whose lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Arizona Animal Welfare League https://aawl.org/donate/tribute/ in Becky's memory.
