OBITUARY
Benjamin L. Meidinger
January 13, 1929 – October 13, 2013
Benjamin Meidinger, 84, of Phoenix, Arizona and formerly of Buhl, Minnesota passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013. He was born in Eureka, South Dakota, then moved with his family to Yakima, Washington and graduated from Naches High School. He then became a Carpenter’s apprentice at the Hanford Atomic Energy Plant and in 1951 moved to Buhl where he established the M&M Woodworks business which he operated until 1969. Returning to construction, he was employed by American Bridge and became active with the Carpenters Local 606 of Virginia, serving as President from 1972-1985. He then served as union representative and a representative of the Minnesota Statewide District Council of Carpenters, Saint Paul, from 1985 until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0239, of Virginia and VFW Post 113, having served in the US Army, during the Korean War. He loved fishing, snowmobiling, hunting, playing cards, and gambling at the Casinos living life to the fullest. He is survived by his wife, Rosalyn, son Scott and daughters Susanne and Cynthia 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 4 sisters. Visitation will be Monday, October 21, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix. A committal service with military honors will follow at 1:00 PM at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix.

I just read the obit on my iPad that was published in the Mesabi. Dan and I are so sorry that Ben has died.
