The passing of my loved one,
Was but a passing to the place,
In the home of glory God's prepared,
In His endless love and grace.
The passing of my loved one,
Was sadness to my heart.
But I take comfort in the knowing,
That we'll not be long apart.
The world's lights grew dimmer,
For one light's been moved away.
And Heaven's lights are brighter,
As I'll think of them each day.
The world's garden is now short one flower,
Which was chosen by the Hand,
Of the Lord to add sweet aroma,
To His garden in that land.
I'll miss that precious flower,
But I know that it won't fade,
For it's blooming now forever,
In that garden God has made.
This world is not forever,
Nor its troubles and its woes.
Though now we watch with sadness down that road,
That each loved one someday goes.
We bid farewell with tear filled eyes,
And with grief upon our face.
And look with hope to Heaven,
When we'll be gathered in that place.
So for now, we'll honor their sweet memory,
By the life we live for Him.
And one day, we'll cross to Heaven,
Where the lights will never dim.
