Bevie was born to Gladys (nee Chapman) and Ralph Barnes on March 1, 1937, in Couer d’Alene, Idaho, where the family lived until moving to Phoenix, Arizona in 1945.
While attending Tolleson High School, Bevie met Billie C. Neitch, and they married in Phoenix, Arizona in 1955. Billie joined the US Air Force soon after and they moved to Kansas until his discharge 6 years later. During their marriage, they were blessed with three children: Deborah A. Neitch, John A. Neitch, and David S. Neitch. The family returned to Phoenix, Arizona in 1964, and Bevie and Billie divorced in 1974.
Bevie’s lifelong devotion to her faith and her church led her to her second husband, Ronald L. Suneson. They married in 1977 in Phoenix, where they continued to embrace their family, friends, fellowship, and everlasting faith until Ron went to be with the Lord in July 2010.
Bevie found great joy in gardening and held a deep love and fascination with butterflies, which she happily shared with her family and friends. Bevie believed that butterflies embodied freedom, lightness, and joy, and reminded all of us to let go of burdens and enjoy the beautiful gift God provided us in nature.
Next to her faith, Bevie’s greatest devotion was to her family. She is survived by brother Edward Barnes and wife, Darla; sister Joan A. Cajthaml; two sons John A. Neitch and David S. Neitch and wife, Shannon; son-in-law Roger L. Welker; three grandchildren Lisa Faison and husband Louie, Andrea C. Bell and husband Keith, and Sarah E. Murphy; three great-grandchildren Stefon Faison, DeMario Faison, and Skylla Faison; two nieces Kari Bramini and husband Neil; Kris Webb and husband Chris; one grand-niece Tatum Webb; and two grand-nephews Trenton Webb and Troy Webb.
Bevie was preceded in death by parents Gladys and Ralph Barnes; Sister Peggy Walker and husband Bob; husband Ronald L. Suneson; daughter Deborah A. Welker; grandson Scott R. Neitch; brother-in-law Jim Cajthaml, and nephews Mark and Rick Barnes.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 11:00 am at Family Life Assembly of God, 5402 W. Union Hills Drive, Glendale, AZ 85308.
