Billie Mae lived her eighty-four years with a heart full of kindness and a spirit that never met a stranger. She wasn't physically strong - gentle, soft, and warm - but as her husband, Don, always said, "she's tough as nails."
She was married to the love of her life, for sixty-three years. He passed away on November 12, 2023. Two years later, she joined him again.
Hospitality was her instinct and always asked, "Are you hungry?" Feeding people was one of her deepest expressions of love. She found joy in simple, everyday things: talking with friends and family on the phone, tending to her plants, feeding the birds, watching hallmark movies, working puzzles, and playing games on her computer. She had a competitive streak everyone knew well - if you played a game with her, you had to beat her fair and square. Don teased, with affection, that she could be "mean as a snake" when she wanted to win.
She loved to travel and enjoyed snorkeling, collecting shells, and living in Hawaii by the ocean.
Billie Mae was a devoted wife, a loving mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, a supportive sister, a cherished relative, and a loyal friend. We will miss her laughter, kindness, curiosity, adventure, competitiveness, romance, and love that touched everyone that was lucky enough to know her.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever ours.
