Brian Edward Gentry

Brian Edward Gentry was born on February 12, 1965, in Clinton, Illinois, to Patricia L. White and Robert L. Gentry. He was the eldest of three children to Patricia L. (White) Gentry and Robert L. Gentry. Brian passed away at his home in Phoenix, Arizona on July 31, 2026.

In 1979, Brian and his family moved to Arizona, where he attended Maryvale High School. He especially enjoyed hands-on classes, including shop and woodworking. One of his proudest accomplishments was rebuilding a 1968 Plymouth Barracuda, restoring both the engine and the body with his own hands. Although his mother was understandably nervous about the project, the car ran beautifully. In woodshop, Brian crafted a walnut television stand of such exceptional quality that his teacher photographed it to use as an example for future students. That handcrafted piece remains in his mother's home today.

After high school, Brian worked in construction, where his talent and strong work ethic were well suited to hands-on work. He specialized in tile roofing and took pride in building and repairing things with skill and care.

Brian had a lifelong love of gardening, a passion that began while spending time with his grandparents, who taught him how to grow vegetables. He found joy in working the soil and sharing the fruits of his labor. He was also a devoted Green Bay Packers fan and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite team.

Brian shared a close bond with his sister, Susan. Though he loved teasing her, it was always done with affection, and the two shared a special lifelong relationship.

Brian is survived by his parents, Patricia L. White and Robert L. Gentry, and his beloved sister, Susan.

He was welcomed into Heaven by both sets of his grandparents and by his brother, Stanley Warren, who passed away just days after his birth.
