He said to tell you he will now watch over all of us in the company of all the many loved ones who passed away before he did, whom he has now joined up with, so please don’t mourn. A dear friend of Bruce’s sent me a letter of condolence which I found extremely comforting, so I’m passing on his message. It is words written by Benjamin Franklin whom Bruce thought was an amazing soul.
He said “A person is not completely born until he or she is dead. Why then should we grieve that a new child is born among the immortals. We are spirits. That bodies should be lent us, while they can afford us pleasure, assisting us in acquiring knowledge and in doing good to our neighbors and fellow creatures, is a kind and benevolent act of God. When they become unfit for these purposes and afford us pain instead of pleasure; instead of being an aid become an encumbrance; it is equally kind and benevolent that a way is provided by which we may get rid of them. Death is that way.”
