Carlos Erik Mendoza, 45, was born on May 22, 1981, in Mexico City, Mexico, and passed away on August 17, 2026. He resided in El Mirage, Arizona. Carlos will be remembered as a beloved and cherished husband, father, and grandfather—steady in his devotion, generous in spirit, and quietly brave through life’s demands. He carried himself with honesty and loyalty, meeting others with a kind heart, thoughtful attention, and a patience that made people feel safe and valued. Even in serious moments, his humor could bring light, and his resilience and selflessness were evident in the way he showed up for those he loved.

From an early age, Carlos worked hard and took pride in doing things well. He graduated from high school and was a varsity soccer player, bringing the same discipline and determination to the field that would later define his work and family life.

Carlos owned his own painting business, a source of great pride for him. He approached every job with care and integrity, making certain his work met—or exceeded—his customers’ expectations. Those who knew him understood that this was more than a profession; it was an extension of his character: dependable, hardworking, and committed to doing what was right.

Carlos and Guadalupe were high school sweethearts and shared 25 years of marriage. Together they celebrated their silver anniversary, including a memorable 20th anniversary trip to Hawaii—their first time there. Carlos was deeply devoted to his family. He and Guadalupe raised four daughters, whom he loved very much, and he was also the proud grandfather of one granddaughter. He often reminded his children to look after one another—encouraging them to help their siblings, even when they did not feel like it—leaving behind a legacy of compassion, loyalty, and responsibility within the home he helped build.

In his personal life, Carlos found joy in the simple gift of time together. He loved watching movies, especially during family movie night, and he had a special fondness for fantasy films—particularly *The Hobbit* and *Lord of the Rings*. He looked forward to annual Disneyland trips with his family, and whenever he had the chance, he enjoyed playing video games. These were not merely pastimes, but moments where his warmth, humor, and devoted presence were felt most clearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 North 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009, US, on August 28, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

To those who donated or came by to visit us through these unfortunate times, from the bottom of my heart, I truly love and appreciate each and everyone of you. Never have I thought that this much love and kindness would come into our lives, so sincerely, thank you.”

As his family also shares, Carlos often said, “I think I’m going to do a wrap around.”
