Carmelita Sarah Kempfer

Carmelita Sarah Kempfer, of Phoenix Arizona, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023. She was Mom to 8 children, Grandma to 24 grandchildren, Great-Grandma to 43 great grandchildren, and Great-Great Grandma to 7 Great-Great Grandchildren. At 91 years of age, she lived a long, full life, yet to her family, she passed way too soon.

Carmelita was born April 25, 1931 in the small town of Lincoln California. She was the last surviving child of 9 children born to Maria Guadalupe Rubalcava Lopez and Jose Maria Lopez. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wesley Kempfer (1999), her daughters Rita Louise Morningstar (2017) and Linda Marguerita (2019), her grandson Jeffrey Kempfer (2020) and great-grandson Dravon (2005). She is survived by her children Charles Wesley Kempfer Jr (Lyndie), Forrest [Rusty] Kempfer (Dolly), Betty Kempfer Dallas (Franklin) Steven Kempfer, Lillian Ornelas, Peggy Batad (Meliton), and 23 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation for Carmelita will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Funeraria Del Angel Greer-Wilson Chapel, 5921 West Thomas Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85033, followed by a funeral service from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Transport of the casket to Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, Arizona 85301 will be 10:30 to 11:00 AM. The graveside service will begin at 11 AM.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be from Noon to 3:30 pm. Location will be provided at the Memorial service. You are welcome to attend the graveside service, or can elect to go directly to the Celebration of Life location.
