Charles C. Peevy was born January 12, 1946 in Washington DC to Callie Mae Johnson and was adopted at birth by the late Willa and Taft Charles Peevy. He was one of four boys birthed by his biological mother. Soon after his birth his family moved to Tulsa, OK where he spent his youth, accepted Christ, and graduated from Booker T. High School in 1963. Charles continued his education by earning a BS degree from the University of Wisconsin and a Masters of Art degree in Operational Management from the University of Phoenix. He also received Executive Education training at the American Graduate School of International Management.
In 1966, he met his current wife of 51 years, the former Bettie Edwards in Tulsa, OK and they were later married on January 28, 1968. The couple then moved to Madison, WI where they started their family. They later relocated to Southfield, MI, returned to Madison after 3 years, and then finally moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1997.
Charles worked at General Motors Corp. in various roles and he retired after 29 years. Charles was the CEO of “Win Win” Mediation Services in the Phoenix area. He also worked as a Mediator and Small Claims Hearing Officer for the Maricopa County Justice Courts and sat on the board of Save My Family Foundation of Arizona. He taught many subjects such as Afro-American History and Culture, and Physics at the University of Wisconsin and Malcolm Shabazz High School in Madison.
Charles has been an influential person in the community for years. He participated on the Afro-American Advisory committee for Maricopa County. He was active in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program for 40 years. He served on the Health and Social Services Board and Adult Services Board for the Dane Co. Commissioner. He also served as a Human Relations Commissioner for the town of Gilbert.
Charles was a proud and prominent member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He was initiated into the Fraternity, September 3, 1966, through Xi Omega Chapter in Tulsa, OK and served unselfishly for over 50 years, most recently through Phi Iota Chapter in Phoenix, AZ. He has held nearly every executive board position within the fraternity and has been the recipient of numerous fraternal awards at the chapter, district and international levels. He is responsible for the chartering of Epsilon Theta (1969) and Gamma Gamma Gamma (1984) Chapters in Madison, Wisconsin. He served as the 29th District Representative for the Fraternity's 12th District which is comprised of the 10 western most states including Alaska.
Charles C. Peevy made his transition from this earth at his home on a beautiful Friday morning (his favorite day of the week), July 19, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Reginald Ratliff-New York, NY.

Johnny Johnson (Sonja)-Charlotte, NC, Attorney Albert Ratliff (Melody)- Houston, TX; Sister Michelle Cooper-Tulsa, OK, Sister-n-Law Jackie B Jones-Carson, CA; one son Charles C. Peevy II -Ahwatukee, AZ; one daughter Rachonda Brown (Demetrius)- Gilbert, AZ; and two grandsons Deonye and Raylan Peevy-Brown and a host of other relatives and friends
