Charles Arthur Thompson, age 79, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at his residence in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on June 5, 1940 to Art and Alice Thompson in Bradley, IL. Chuck attended Bradley Bourbonnais Community High School graduating class of 1958; then furthered his education at Kankakee Community College obtaining a degree in Political Science. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1961 and was a member of the American Legion. He had a Valentine Day Wedding to Teresa Ikeler, in Kankakee, IL. Chuck spent some of his working years as a police officer, truck driver and a school bus driver. He enjoyed the history and heat of Arizona, Bowling, University of IL – Fighting Illini, New Orleans Saints and the dam Chicago Cubs. Charles is survived by his best friend and caregiver, his yorkie Miley; five children; daughters: Denise (Lynn) Graf of Wilmington, IL, Julie Thompson (Debra) of Phoenix, AZ, and Jennifer Book (Craig) of Clarksville, TN and sons: Mike Thompson of Bradley and Gary (Jan) Thompson of Buckeye, AZ; two brothers: Don Thompson of Mohomet, IL, and Terry (Margaret) Thompson of Bradley, IL; sister, Sally Hood of Aroma Park, IL; eleven grandchildren: Brian and Kourtnee, Jacob, Jason and Jared, Terri and Tyler, Christopher and Kyle, Haley and Cory; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian; his wife, Teresa; parents, Art and Alice; brother and sister In Law: Larry and Kathie Thompson; sister in law, Bonnie (Don) Thompson; brother in law, George (Sally) Hood; Denise, Mike, and Gary’s mother, Nancy Whitman Seifert. Limited Occupancy Visitation Services will be held at Shadow Mountain Mortuary Phoenix, AZ on May 30, 2020.
