

Choi was born in Toisan Village, Canton, China, and immigrated to the United States in 1956 settling in Phoenix, Arizona. She embraced her adopted country by learning the language and culture, and with the family contributed to the growth of the Chinese community in Phoenix.
Together with her now-late husband Ngok Moon "Charlie" Wong they spent 33 years building and operating their successful small businesses in south Phoenix -- New Moon Market and Minute Liquors, and expanding and raising their family.
Her interests included Eastern medical remedies, Chinese cooking methods and personal improvement. Following her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family including grandchildren and great grandchildren in Arizona and California.
Choi was predeceased by her husband, Ngok Moon, and daughter, Jean. She is survived by daughters Suzie (Andrew) Kwan, Mary (William) Lum and Doris, and sons Barry and Harry Ryan (Katie); 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation is Friday, August 21, 2015, 5:00pm to 7:30pm, A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Road, Phoenix. Funeral and Burial services will be private. Visitation was also held in California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St, Phoenix AZ 85014.
