Today we mourn the passing of Clarence E. Cooper, (Coop), 91 of Phoenix, Arizona. A native Arizonan, he is survived by his loving wife of 71 year, Norma Jeanne and their 5 children, Galen (David), Becky, Pat (Kevin), Karen (Jim) and James (Melodee). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Coop was a true renaissance man. He served in the US Navy and was later employed by the government. After his retirement, he and his partner built and operated a business in Tubac, AZ for over 25 years. He became a self-taught blacksmith, gunsmith, jeweler, silversmith, welder, and knife maker. There was nothing he wouldn’t try and he succeeded at everything. He made friends easily with his quick wit, charm, and a smile that would make anyone’s day better. He will be dearly missed by anyone that knew him either as a lifelong friend or just a passing acquaintance. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of the Valley will be appreciated. Services will be celebrated on Friday, April 27, 2018 at The Bridge, 4900 E. Thomas Rd.
